Missing Home

We have been away for 23 days now. We're on the other side of the world. And I miss home.
I consider myself an adaptable person. I've lived in various places, environments, climates, situations, and I don't think I've ever really 'put down roots' anywhere, but this evening I am missing this house.
This house is beautiful. Everything in it and around it is wonderful. But most of all my life in this house with my partner is more than I could wish for.
The lawn is not green anymore as in the photo. It has been extremely hot and dry and we dare not leave the watering system going while we are away.
The acreage is thick with tinder dry native bush. One cigarette end thrown out a car window along the road at the bottom of the hill and our house could be no more.
I hope it is still there when we get home.
Twenty-seven days to go.
